For purposes of Deer Lake Improvement Association Inc. (DLIA) Data Privacy Policy

For the purposes of the Deer Lake Improvement Association (herby DLIA) data privacy policy. The DLIA collects data voluntarily from members through email or hard copy requests and does not sell to any third-party company. The DLIA has a Need-to-Know policy, meaning member information is not shared between the Board of Directors unless necessary for association business. Members provide general contact information for purposes of the DLIA Directory. Members provide general contact information for purposes of membership tracking by the Board of Directors, as elected by DLIA By-Laws.

Members may request DLIA disclose personal information collected, used, and why they collected, used that information. Specifically, members may request that DLIA disclose:

○ What personal information collected
○ If information is collected from anywhere other than a voluntary submission
○ Why the information is needed
○ How the information is used

The DLIA will provide a 12-month period preceding your information request regarding personal information collection/use. The DLIA provides this free of charge to the requester of the requester’s information. The DLIA requires confirmation of requesters’ identity to ensure the appropriateness of the release of information. The DLIA will require the requester to provide a non-expired government photo ID to confirm identity, which will not be retained other than for purpose of request of information.

The DLIA does not sell or share personal information with any third-party entity. You may request the DLIA does not share or sell by – email (deerlakeassn@gmail.com) or by mail (Deer Lake Improvement Association, P.O. Box 741, St. Croix Falls, WI 54024) Request will be answered within 45 Calendar Days but may take 90 calendar days for a final response.
Members can request that DLIA delete personal information collected by your voluntary submission. As noted before, the DLIA will require a non-expired government photo ID to confirm the identity of the requester matches data to be deleted.

Personal information is used to provide mailings and news updates. Request to delete information will inhibit this ability and the DLIA will not be able to provide services (expected as a member) to the individual(s) following a complete deletion.

If members request personal information to be deleted, the DLIA may not be able to complete expected services of disbursement of directories, Deer Tales, or any other means of communications. As personal information is needed to engage one-on-one between DLIA and members.

The DLIA may offer stickers/magnets or other giveaways as incentives to provide personal information. If members ask DLIA to delete personal information, members may not be able to continue participating. If members are unsure what this means, reach out to DLIA by either two methods mentioned prior.
